PLAYING TRAINS WITH BIRTHDAY BEAR

Birthday Bear knows that Bill enjoys train trips and that he is going on two train trips in New Zealand next week when it will be his birthday. So we had an early Birthday Bear celebration at a new Indian Restaurant in Daisy Hill called "Tumeric".

Birthday Bear had made a poster of The Taieri Gorge train trip so Bill can see where he will be going  but best of all Bear brought three trains so Bill and Bear can play trains at home.

Ann helped Bear get dressed and organise the poster and trains. This side of the poster shows the beautiful Dunedin Railway Station, the train, some high bridges and a map.
(Its making me excited about going.)

Ann, Mary, Helen, Paul, George and Bill checking out the menu.

The meals were served in these interesting dishes with separate compartments. It is lovely to see a smile on these two people, who are going through a hard time coping with Paul's cancer.

Not only was it a birthday celebration but out came the champagne for Ann and George's 50th wedding anniversary.
Congratulations Ann and George.

  1. Happy B/day Bill in advance. You may run into Cheryl down there, she is on a hiking trip around the Dunedin area. The weather has been perfect also.

Congratulations to Ann and George also.
    Cheers and happy train tripping.

  2. Happy birthday to Bill. Enjoy your NZ train trips. I am sure you will. We did the Tranz Alpine last August, was brilliant. The Taieri Gorge should be spectacular too. We were booked to go on the Northern Explorer from Wellington to Auckland but it was cancelled and we had to travel the route by BUS, not happy. Have a fantastic trip Diane.

  5. Train trips are always interesting. NewZealand will be wonderful. I have only been to the North Island, enjoyed it very much. When I grew up I loved trains, one highlight every year was to travel over the Bernina down to Tirano, italy where the grapes were ripe.

  6. As always, a great effort with Birthday Bear. I can't remember the name now, but there is a great trip on the south island from west to east, and I suppose the opposite way too.
